What do we offer?

  • ALIIFF offers screenings, lectures, discussions, workshops, events, professional development and opportunities to meet; hear and learn from filmmakers around the world.
  • We organize retrospectives and tributes to major figures as a contribution towards a better understanding of the history of cinema and Red carpet screenings for new releases, which draws major media attention.
  • ALIIFF's annual program includes dramatic features and short films along with daily filmmaker conversations, panel discussions etc.

  • To raise awareness and promote international cinema in all its forms as art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue.
  • To identify, support and nurture the next generation of film lovers.
  • To discover new talent, and the bringing together of professionals and journalists from around the world.
  • To develop a unique platform for the promotion, marketing and sales of all genre movies.

COMPETITION SECTION

The duration of 60 minutes and above is eligible to compete in this category. For non-English movies, it should be subtitled in English.

This competition is intended for Feature Films by Debut Directors. The minimum duration of the film must be 60 minutes and above. For non-English movies, it should be subtitled in English.

This category highlights and showcases the best feature films that are made in Indian Languages. All shortlisted films will be screened in Indian Movie section of ALIIFF 2019. For non-english movies, it should be subtitled in English.

OUT OF COMPETITION SECTION

This is an Out of Competition category exclusively for the MALAYALAM Language Films with original contents and thought-provoking themes. You can submit both Short Films & Feature films in this category if it is made in MALAYALAM Language between Jan 2018 & August 2019. The films must have English Subtitles.
