Synopsis
Benares, the holy city on the banks of theGanges, reserves a cruel punishment for those whoplay with moral traditions. Deepak, a young manfrom a poor neighborhood, falls hopelessly in lovewith a young girl from a different caste. Devi, ayoung student who's gone off the rails, is torturedby feelings of guilt following the disappearance ofher first lover. Devi's father Pathak, a victim ofpolice corruption, has lost his moral compassbecause of money, while a young boy, Jhonta, is insearch of a family. These characters are all seeking abetter future, whilst buffeted between the demandsof modern life and an attachment to tradition. Andtheir paths are about to cross.
