The Indian cricket team watched the special screening of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar's biography "Sachin: A Billion Dreams" together at a theatre in Versova. Sachin also joined and watched the movie with the entire team.
The movie is a biographical film based on the life of cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, India's greatest ever sportsperson, and traces his journey as he ruled the pitch for 24 years carrying the hopes and aspirations of a billion people and smashed records to attain his iconic position in cricket.
The premiere was exclusively for the Indian cricket team before they travel to England for the ICC Champions Trophy. Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma attended the premiere with boyfriend and India captain Virat Kohli. Another special invitee for his special screening was Sudhir Kumar Chaudhary, Sachin's biggest fan.
Reviews of the film according to the cricket team was 'awesome'. Yuvraj Singh shared, “I think the movie was fantastic, very moving. Chants of 'Sachin, Sachin' reminded me of the World Cup which was beautiful. It will always remain in our hearts.”
Virat Kohli said, “It was special. Childhood memories came rushing back to me... All the moments that inspired me, Paaji (Yuvraj) to become a cricketer. We understood his mindset. It was beautifully compiled. It will be a massive success, specially in our country. I think people are going to love it. I wish him all the best.”
MS Dhoni added, “I think it's fantastic, slightly different from what all of us are used to watching. It's the man speaking, so it's his side of the story. Sachin had a long career, it was interesting to watch the comments of all the people that are close to him, people who watched him over a period, and the family members and close friends. Don't miss it. It is all about the phenomena called Sachin.
Shikhar Dhawan tweeted : Loved watching @sachin_rt pajhi's movie, its amazing. Always lovely meeting him.
James Erskine, director, and his co-workers are all set to release "Sachin: A Billion Dreams" on May 26, Friday. The movie has already been declared tax-free film in Kerala, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
